Residency in Anatomic Pathology

The objective of the anatomic pathology residency is to provide trainees with experience in the necropsy, surgical pathology and clinical pathology laboratories. Research training for anatomic pathology residents is designed to provide experience with molecular biology, virology, biochemistry, immunohistochemistry, gnotobiology, cell culture, and quantitative histomorphometry in investigation of the pathogenesis of disease.

Facilities

The pathology laboratories serve the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, regional practitioners and the Columbus Zoo. Training sites include the diagnostic laboratories of the Department of Veterinary Biosciences and the State Diagnostic Laboratory at Reynoldsburg.

Tuition & stipends

• Stipends begin at $30,500
• A $2,000 bonus is applied toward the cost of educational supplies
• Tuition is provided ($9,608/resident or $24,556/non-resident per year)
• The university pays approximately $1,480/year of the cost of student health insurance

Applicant requirements

Review of applications will begin upon receipt and continue until suitable applicants are selected for positions beginning summer quarter (June) of the following year.

DVM from an AVMA-accredited institution is preferred. Application acceptance into the OSU Graduate School is required.
