Veterinary Students

Because our hospital is a teaching hospital, fourth-year veterinary students will also be caring for your pet. Each student is strictly supervised by the attending veterinarian.

The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine admits 140 new veterinary students each year into its 4-year program. Admission is highly competitive: In 2004, 303 Ohio residents applied for 97 seats and 594 at-large applicants for 38 seats in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program. The first year class had an average GPA of 3.63 and GRE of 1887. Part of one of the largest veterinary colleges in the country, Ohio State vet students are also among the best prepared?100 percent of the college?s 135 graduates in 2004 passed the national board exam, scoring above the average of all graduates in all categories.
