Additional Diagnostic Tests
Now that we know Emma has heartworm, you need to perform a few additional tests before you can treat her. Treatment can be risky. You need to determine how severe her worm load is and make sure she is otherwise healthy before you begin.
You perform a CBC / Chemical Profile , thoracic radiographs and an ultrasound of Emma’s heart.
