Farm to Table (Animal Product Hygiene)

in Costa Rican food animal production and processing, goverment
official inspection and academic experience in Veterinary Medicine
School of National University of Costa Rica.
student will be able to experience first hand, the food animal
production in Costa Rica, in all the food chain control (from the farm
to the table), for different species of food animal (chicken, bovine
meat, pork meat, eggs, milk, sausage). Besides the student will be able
to visit the official laboratory and official offices of food inspection
in Costa Rica.
Practice internship the high level students
Library, share experiences with other students, continuing education
activities, transportation, contact with official offices and food
processing plants
Assistance for practice tour, plant Good Manufacture Practices
evaluation for academic purposes, Animal welfare evaluation, reports
after each practice
The student will have at least 5 hours per day and 25 hrs per week of direct contact with veterinarians
