Small Animal Primary Care/Shelter Medicine
Students gain hands-on experience performing numerous spay/neuter surgeries, physical exams, diagnostic and treatment plans, and care for animals at the Oregon Humane Society. This work is done under the supervision of OSU faculty and Humane Society Veterinarians.

Numerous textbooks and computers are available on site.
Rounds are conducted twice daily.
Participation in surgery 1/2 of the day most days.
Participation in seeing medical cases 1/2 of the day most days.
Some evening hours - no required weekend duty.
Patient care for hospitalized pets and patients in the feline 'URI' ward.
Students will work directly with Veterinarians on-site at least 8 hours per day 5 days per week.
