Welcome to the website of the nutrition support service at The Ohio State University Veterinary Hospital. Our mission is to provide the highest quality nutritional care for our companion animal patients. As part of this effort, we developed this site to provide an easily accessible source of veterinary nutrition information for veterinary students, technicians and clinicians colleagues. Our research on the role of nutrition and bladder disease in cats also has led to the development of the Indoor Cat Initiative, which is intended to enrich the lives of indoor cats to promote their health and welfare, and to reduce the risk of stress-responsive disorders.
The credit for this site goes to the many students, colleagues and friends who have asked for and help develop the information you will find here. We try to keep the site as current and accurate as possible, but the contents of these web pages are for information and education only and are not intended to substitute for your health care provider's recommendations. Any clinical decision or treatment plan should be discussed with a licensed health care professional. You should follow that person's best clinical judgment. If you have suggestions for improvement, questions or concerns about any of the information provided here, please contact me.
Sincerely,
C. A. Tony Buffington, DVM, PhD, DACVN
