Veterinary Extension at The Ohio State University is offering an Advanced Poultry Medicine Workshop next month at the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory in Reynoldsburg. The purpose is to provide continuing education in poultry medicine for small/mixed/large animal practitioners who see, or desire to see, poultry as part of their practice. The topics discussed will add additional knowledge and tools for those who have attended previous workshops. However, the information presented and the workshop is still suitable for those who have not yet participated. The program is led by Dr. Geoffrey Lossie, with the Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine at the Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine, with additional instructors consisting of various poultry experts. Noncommercial, urban and backyard poultry producers continue to be a growing population who require veterinary services. .
