Dr. Tracey L. Papenfuss, D.V.M., Ph.D. (Immunology), D.A.C.V.P, is a Principal Pathologist and Immunotoxicology Scientific Advisor at MPI Research with expertise in immunology, immunopathology and immunotoxicology.  As both an immunologist and veterinary pathologist, Dr. Papenfuss integrates complicated data sets and collaborates with scientific colleagues to provide a thorough assessment of how novel therapies impact the immune system in preclinical drug development.  She has more than 15 years of specialized experience, including as a Director of an immunopathology and early discovery immunotherapeutics laboratory at The Ohio State University and as a pathologist in preclinical safety assessment at Charles River Laboratories.  In addition to supporting educational and training opportunities for students, Dr. Papenfuss is an adjunct faculty member in the College of Veterinary Medicine and College of Pharmacy and serves as a consultant for industry in early discovery and preclinical safety in drug development and engages with students, faculty and academic units interested in establishing effective partnerships and collaborations between industry and the University.  As numerous immunomodulatory therapies with subtle or unexpected immune effects continue to be developed, Dr. Papenfuss provides an integrated approach to assessing and mitigating risk in drug development.
