Clinical Basic Services

Primary Care (Basic) Services

The Hospital for Farm Animals, as part of Ohio State's Veterinary Medical Center, provides general veterinary care for farm animals such as castration, hoof trims and dehorns, as well as seeing sick animals needing specitalty medical or surgical care.  Our clinicians have experience with standard livestock such as cattle, sheep, goats, and production swine, as well as non-traditional farm animals such as potbellied/mini-pigs, llamas, alpacas, and exotic hoofstock.

Our Marysville-Large Animal Services facilty provides farm animal ambulatory services within a 60-mile radius of their location.

 

 

 

 

 

Clinical Specialty Services

The Farm Animal Internal Medicine service at the Veterinary Medical Center at Ohio State provides state of the art medical consultation and intensive care from board-certified large animal internists for farm animals (cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, camelids, and deer).

The Farm Animal Neonatal Section at the Veterinary Medical Center at Ohio State provides complete state-of-the-art neonatal consultation and care for farm animals as wells as various obstetric procedures for animals in dystocia.

The Farm Animal Surgery Section at the Veterinary Medical Center at Ohio State provides a complete surgical service with a board certified large animal surgeon for all surgeries of farm animals ranging from routine castration and dehorn to abdominal explore, various orthopedic, and soft tissue procedures.

The Theriogenology and Reproductive Medicine Service at the VMC will offer assisted reproductive services for dogs and cats, farm, and equine patients.

Welcome to the Clinical Diagnostic Laboratories at the Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center!

The pharmacy at the Veterinary Medical Center at Ohio State fills prescriptions for clients of the hospital. We fill inpatient and outpatient orders for all companion (small), farm and equine animal patients of the hospital.
