Scholarships

Scholarships and grants are considered gift to provide financial support that does not require repayment. The College of Veterinary Medicine informs students about these opportunities through email, flyers and personal interactions. We strongly encourage all CVM students to explore and seize these scholarship opportunities as a valuable means to reduce their loan burden.

Scholarship Opportunities

In the first year of the veterinary program, scholarships are awarded as part of the admissions process. Students in their second-fourth-year are strongly encouraged to apply for internal scholarships for the upcoming academic year through a centralized application process. The number of scholarships, amounts awarded, and the number of recipients may vary yearly. Scholarship criteria vary from specific to general and may include categories such as demographics, background, involvement experience, leadership, academics, etc.

  • Students will receive an email with the application information at the end of the Autumn semester.
  • The Scholarship Committee reviews each application.
  • Scholarships are awarded based on the criteria for each scholarship.
  • Scholarship award notifications are sent to the student and Student Financial Aid during the Spring semester for the upcoming academic year.
  • Awarded to incoming students based on admissions scores
  • A FAFSA must be on file to be considered for scholarships during the first year
  • Contact CVM Admissions at (614) 292-1171 for more information
