Dr. Roger Fingland receives Jack W. Judy Distinguished Service Award

Roger Fingland, DVM, MS, MBA, DACVS, professor, executive associate dean, executive director and chief medical officer of the Veterinary Health System, and Frank Stanton Chair in General Practice and Canine Health and Wellness, is the recipient of the Jack W. Judy Distinguished Service Award.

This highly prestigious award has only been awarded four times since being created in 1998. It is the highest honor bestowed by the American Association of Veterinary Clinicians (AAVC), recognizing an AAVC member for their contributions, effort, enthusiasm and leadership in support of the mission, vision, and vitality of the AAVC. Dr. Fingland received the award at a virtual ceremony during the recent annual meeting of department heads and hospital directors on March 25, 2021.

Dr. Fingland’s passion and vision for the clinical education of veterinary students, interns, and residents is unparalleled. His contributions in the classroom and clinical setting, and through his leadership, development, and implementation of innovative initiatives and programs, have benefitted trainees, faculty, clients, patients, and the veterinary profession in more ways than I can list here. 

Dr. Fingland has been a tireless and enthusiastic advocate, dedicated servant and a major and meaningful contributor to advancing the veterinary profession who exemplifies our ambition to Be The Model® comprehensive college of veterinary medicine in the world.
