Veterinary Clinical Sciences Visiting Program

The goal of the Visiting Program is to provide visitors with in-depth exposure to specialty areas in veterinary medicine and provide academic growth for participants. In exchange, visitors enrich our clinical programs and research labs and help other institutions meet specific programmatic needs. Visitors provide opportunities for collaboration and sharing of ideas in teaching, clinics, and research. Hands-on clinical experience is strictly prohibited for our visitors due to compliance with Ohio Law, state licensure requirements, and University liability insurance coverage. However, visitors are permitted and encouraged to observe our faculty and students in all clinical activities, including patient exams, rounds, special procedures, and surgeries.

If you are a 4th year veterinary student attending one of these AVMA accredited colleges or International AVMA accredited colleges and interested in visiting externships, please refer to the AVMA Accredited Externship Program.

This program will NOT satisfy requirements of the PAVE or ECFVG programs. Participants of these programs should not apply to our program.

Please direct questions or comments to our Visiting Program Coordinator, Chelsea Souder via email at souder.60@osu.edu. Each visitor will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may have different requirements than those listed below.
